Liliana DEACONESCU has a 10 years professional experience and specialises in the field of domestic and international commercial arbitration, as well as in investment-related arbitration. In that respect, she has been a member of the teams having advised and represented private legal entities in disputes settled by way of domestic and international arbitration, before the ICC Paris or, respectively, before the Court of International Commercial Arbitration attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, in cases deriving from FIDIC contracts and share transfer agreements.
In addition, Liliana Deaconescu has an impressive experience in the field of litigation, and was involved, inter alia, in complex cases relating to the liability of various factors which participated in the construction of landmark buildings in Bucharest, in disputes concerning gambling, in which she assisted a well-known Austrian sports betting company in various cases before the Romanian courts, in proceedings relating to directors’ liability, proceedings for the recovery of customs taxes, administrative procedures concerning the cancellation of construction permits, as well as in cases relating to the protection of intellectual property rights.
She is a graduate of the Law Faculty of Titu Maiorescu University. She holds an LL.M. in EU law from the National School of Political and Administrative Studies, as well as an LL.M. in international arbitration from the Faculty of Law of the Bucharest University. She is an alumnus of the Summer Academy on International Commercial Arbitration of the University of Cologne (Germany).
She is fluent in English and a basic user of French.
